Blanket of snow

Even though I have not slept in two nights (glorious insomnia and ran out of meds/refills over the weekend)…what a glorious morning we have.

After raining torrents yesterday (and the washing away of the remainder of what would some day be my back yard), then sleet last night, the snow finally came.

Here’s the view today:

The trees (and everything else) is covered in soft, white, powdery snow.  C2 (the younger, smaller version of “my man”…aka my son…is dismayed that it is a fluffysnow –  it is not hard enough to tube down the hill (a steeper hill, not the slope you see above).

I, however, am awed.  It has been so long since we have had a real winter here.  God sent this beautiful snow on March 2 – 18 days before spring officially begins.  He blanked the ground, trees and structures with beautiful, white snow.

I know that in a day or two, we will be back to mud again…but for now, it is nice reminder of God’s grace – how He blankets us with it – knowing the mud that lies beneath – but still turning us into a beautiful scene to behold.
